I sometimes
do photography and videotaping for others, so I have a heavier-duty camera tripod.
It makes it possible to take more professional looking video when the situation
calls for it. Much to my dismay, I recently discovered that one of the telescoping
leg latches has broken. Now when it's set up the whole world tilts suddenly
to one side because of the failure of one small piece of plastic on one leg.
It's surprising at times how devastating "one small broken piece" can be. Remove
a bolt from a car engine, and the belts come loose. Leave one loose on a
jet engine and the engine can fly apart. Little things can make a big difference.
My guess is many of you might consider yourselves a small piece to God.
But God's word is clear about the importance of every part (every Christian) of
the Body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:7 says, "But to each one is given
the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good." And verses 14 & 15 say, "For the body is not one member, but
many. If the foot says, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the
body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body." You see,
there is no one who is not important in God's program! When you aren't in
church, when you're broken down spiritually, when you are a trial instead of a
trooper, the Church suffers. Don't let Satan win. Hang in there. Strive
to be a functional part instead of a broken piece of the Body of Christ, the Church.
