Some
of my time lately has been spent trying to get a computer to work properly. As
I assembled parts and began to work on upgrading the system, I found that even
more parts were needed. One of those parts was a video card. Things were not going
to go easy for this project!
When everything was hooked up like it was supposed to be, the
resulting picture was not as expected. The computer and the monitor were not talking
to each other properly. They wouldn't "interface," and the resulting picture was
not readable.
With computers, if things do not interface properly, the computer
can be worthless. More work was needed.
If we do not learn to rightly "interface" with our
Heavenly Father, our lives will not run properly either. For the Christian, interfacing
or communicating is partly a function of prayer. We must learn to pray keeping
in mind the pattern Jesus taught His disciples. "Our Father who is in heaven...
" (verse
9), you probably know the rest.
Take time to study this prayer pattern and you will see He wanted
them to learn to talk to the Father in worship and on subjects like forgiveness,
daily needs, help with temptation, and their future. Our prayers should contain
at least these same elements.
Learn to "interface" with your Heavenly Father by
practicing daily prayer. Your whole life will work better if you do. The "picture"
will be clearer and the world will see God's message of love in you.
