I am a
dessert lover. But every once in a while when I mix up something on my own, I
don't get it blended as completely as it should be. The result is that most of
the cake (or whatever) tastes fine until I hit a bite where something was left
to itself. Baking powder has to be one of the worst such things to encounter.
Nothing can take away the sweet taste of a delightful dessert like raw baking
powder!
Many baked and cooked items are made up of otherwise not so
flavorful things. Salt or flour by themselves don't interest me, but you can't
have a cake without them.
Our lives are a mixture of "good and bad" ingredients. We have
great times and wonderful relationships that lift us up, and most of us experience
bitter times and trials that could make baking powder seem tasty. The "Grand Chef,"
the Lord Jesus Christ uses all of these things to make us what He wants us to
be.
Paul wrote, " For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among
those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma
from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life... " (verses
15-16). You see, God is in the process of baking us into something has
an aroma He can use to bless others and glorify Himself.
Rejoice! He won't leave you half-baked!
