| Today,
Daniel pulled me aside with a special request. He wanted me to wait until
he could show me something. He disappeared while I sat on the basement steps
waiting for him to return with the surprise. Both Ben and Daniel really
enjoy dressing up like the old movie cowboys. With plastic guns a-blazing
and straw cowboy hats in place, they can have hours of fun. When he did
show up more than 5 minutes later, he was decked out in his outfit and had a desperado
drop on me with his six shooter. He just simply wanted to share something
with me I had seen at least 100 times before. But it meant a great deal
to him for me to respond to his outfit and a brief springy horse ride where he
"shot" into the air while the horse "galloped" along.
Having someone who cares even about the littlest things in
your life is very special. Too often we don't take the time to get involved
in the small things in others' lives. Our Sunday morning chatter is superficial
and our caring shallow. That's not the way Christ meant His church to be.
Romans
12:15 reads, "Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who
weep." That is just one small verse speaking to the much greater need that
believers be involved in the lives of other believers.
Who could you take time to share with this week? Who's
life can you touch just by giving a little time? You have to take some time
in order to make a difference.

Standard Version unless otherwise noted.
