I'm
a gadget guy. I love to read about and keep up with new technology.
I also love to own it, but... that is another problem! Often I find what's
new through catalogs. They bring the wonders of man's ingenuity right to
my mailbox. I have learned over the years to ALMOST never be overcome by
the ads and fabulous promises, however sometimes the internal struggle is great!
Catalogs play a big part in our society nowdays. (they
also help to keep the post office afloat) There are mailings for almost
anything you can think of and a lot of stuff you probably haven't. In the
end review there's always an unspoken message that if you just owned some of this,
you would be happier. Lasting happiness, however, doesn't
come from things. If comes through relationships and experiencing peace.
Jesus Christ provides just such a relationship and He's the "Prince of Peace"
(Isaiah 9:6). Our eternal catalog is delivered through
that relationship. Notice the products, "Blessed be the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the
heavenly places in Christ," (Ephesians 1:3).
Can you imagine what that catalog looks like... "every spiritual blessing?"
Don't spend your time trying to get happiness from what the
world offers. Read the greatest "mailing" of all, the Bible.
Work today on your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Standard Version unless otherwise noted.
