Ben
and Daniel like to play dress-up. Put a cowboy hat and a vest on and they quickly
change into little cowboys. Dress them in a little suit and they tend to be a
little more gentlemanly. Give them helmets and a tricycle and you get wild
motorcycle riders. With capes and leeway and they turn into superheroes.
The latter is what happened a short time ago. Ben and Daniel
started winding up for a good run around the dining room, capes trailing, in pursuit
of some invisible foe. Just as Mom was about to put a stop to the intensifying
activity, Ben reached out to pull a "Spiderman" type maneuver off the dining room
drapes! Much to his surprise and our dismay he was a little too heavy! That, you
might say, was their curtain call! 2
Thessalonians 2:1 - 6 talks of the imminent curtain call of the
"man of lawlessness." One of Paul's intentions for writing about this character
is to assure his readers they should not be quickly shaken from their faith. God's
timing for the final curtain call is in His control and will not sneak by God's
followers. Paul, furthermore, didn't want them or us deceived.
Read the Bible and learn about God's plans for the end of the age so that you
won't be deceived. You could pray today, "Father, I don't want to be deceived
by Satan's tricks. Help me to know what
I need to know about the Final Curtain of history."
