As
I write this piece today I am listening to a CD of Prussian Royal Court Composers.
Some of you may think I am a bit crazy. Perhaps I am, but I have found
that listening to classical music helps to soothe my thoughts and keep me better
focused on what I am doing. I also find that the beat assists me in setting
up a bit of rhythm as I type. At first my teenagers expressed some question of just how old I really was because I enjoyed the classical stuff! They almost acted like they thought my music had something to do with losing my hair! Now, a couple of them have even hinted that it may be okay after all. Meditating on and taking in good music can have a good effect on you. Researchers have found that classical music even has positive physical effects. Paul makes a "classical" statement in 2 Thessalonians 1:2 : "Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." Talk about a way to change how you feel! God's grace is all sufficient. When I need it, it is always there and available in the volume I need. His peace is that "which surpasses all comprehension!" (Philippians 4:7). The Lord will even give me peace in the midst of a storm. Meditate on God's classical grace and peace. They are special gifts that you can experience even today.
All Scripture references are from the New American Standard Version unless otherwise noted.
