We
have finally completed our move and are starting to get things arranged, the house
organized and ourselves settled into our new home. There were some trying
times just to get down the road and up the mountain where we live now. There
was too much stuff and not enough room, a flat tire, time constraints, multiple
goodbye meetings, packing woes and boxes. Lots of boxes!
Right now, it seems that everyplace I look
there are still boxes holding some of our earthly processions. If
they were more extensively
marked or transparent it would be easier to find some of our things.
Instead, boxes ring rooms
and hide furniture. Our very walking paths are dictated to some extent
by the presence of boxes. I will
be glad when they are all gone!!
Paul wrote to Roman Christians about the problem
of being boxed in by the world. In Romans
12:2 he penned, "...do not be confirmed to
this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." We
are called on tomake
an effort to NOT be boxed in by the world.
If the world around you dictates where you go, what you do,
what you listen to and who you hang out with, you are conformed, boxed in! The
only way you can know the freedom of not being boxed in is through the transforming
power of a relationship with God through Jesus Christ His Son, and the liberating
effect of God's Word.
