In our children's
younger years it was a constant job to keep the floor clean around our home even
though I'm the only one who gets away with wearing my shoes in the house.
Bonita prefers barefoot anyway and the children are almost consistently expected
to take their shoes off at the door. If they weren't, it's hard to imagine
what they might track in.
One our biggest offenders was Ben. He didn't wear
shoes but he sure could make a mess on the floor. Let him feed himself
and you were almost assured
of a mess. Sometimes I think he put food on the floor
just so he could come back for a snack later!
One day we had some chicks in a box in
the house, he fed them some of his cereal. At 12 months of age, he
understood that they ate
some of the same things he did.
Interaction in the Christian community needs to
be much the same. We all need each other. We are a part of a Body
(1
Corinthians 15). We
need to take part in encouraging and feeding one another the Word of God
and spiritual things.
Colossians
3:16 says, "Let the word of
Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing
one another with psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts
to God."
It's like one baby feeding another - One
Child of God helping another. Have you looked around to see who you
should be helping? Being
a spiritual loner isn't in God's plan for you. Having part in feeding His
other children is.
