There
have been studies done which show that most little boys gravitate toward noisy
toys over quiet ones. And if most little boys are like mine, they will improvise
for toys that don't make noise! Our house is full of small plastic cars and trucks. Sometimes the sound of power from these things gets so loud we have to turn down the volume. The power sounds are coming from the boys. The toy car's power is an illusion supplied by the vibrating lips of our little ones. This next millennium will bring ever-greater illusions of power. From TV commercials to virtual reality computer applications, it will become harder and harder to determine what is real and what is fake The Christian is to have a life characterized by the power of God. Jesus last recorded spoken words include "... But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you..." Jesus was dispersing real power to His disciples so they and we could be His witnesses around the world. Tap into the power of God today. Read His Word and depend upon the Holy Spirit to empower you for what God wants you to do with your time. Pray right now asking the Lord to live a life of real power today. You don't want to be just a noisemaker!
