A
fairly consistent bedtime ritual around our house is prayers with our little guys.
Often they even have the choice of one of their siblings or a parent to seek God's
blessing with them. For our native missionaries we pray for safety and direction
and that their basic needs would be met. (They are native to India).
Invariably for some, the prayer is simply that
they would be blessed and receive God's grace. We can hardly know what "Simon"
and "Jancy"
in India need exactly, but God does. He knows exactly what "graces"
they will need as they
travel to another village or preach in their own.
The full implications of blessing with grace may
not be seen in this world. We don't know all of what God is doing behind
the scenes when we pray
for someone to receive grace or ask God to give it to us. There may have
been an accident you
missed or trial for which you were better prepared. There could be things
happening in the spiritual
realm that we can't even imagine, all because God's grace was "with
us."
Today be thankful that God's Grace is matchless and bestowed
on us even though we don't deserve it. His grace is indeed His unmerited favor!
The love and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ makes it available to us. We can
certainly rejoice in that even if there is nothing else to be happy about.
