Recently,
while driving near my home, I inadvertently ran over a piece of metal road
debris. There was a loud clunk and then it seemed like our minivan actually
raised up like we had run over something larger. Worse than that, the engine
immediately started to sputter and we were soon sitting alongside the road.
I tried several more times to get it restarted and then
did the best I could to get a look underneath. Because of traffic, I was
unable to get near the damaged area. We called a tow truck and got hauled
home.!
Whenever a random incident like this happens, I start
to pray and then also ask God what He wants me to know or who He wants me
to meet. There seemed to be no answer. I wonder if Shadrach, Meshach and
Abed-nego felt the same way when they were suddenly the only ones standing
in Daniel
3:12)? Sometimes events are so clear as to purpose
while other times we just feel like we ran over something for nothing.
Daniel
3 records that the outcome for those fellows was that
Nebuchadnezzar said, "Blessed be the God of (the Hebrews)... " (verse 28).
You never know who might be marvelously influenced by how you react or act.
And, by the way. I figured out what my little accident
was for. It made for an illustration for an article!
