A
paddlefish recently caught in Western Kentucky had made quite a trip to
get there. Seems he was tagged clear back in 1995 and also had been implanted
with a tracking device that had long played out. He started his incredible
journey in the upper part of the Missouri River in South Dakota!
Now in order for a fish to get to Kentucky, he had to
get past two large dams on the Missouri, then follow it to the Mississippi
at St. Louis. Further down the he took a left turn and went up the Ohio
River, then a right into the Cumberland River before being caught below
the Barkley Dam.
Sometimes a fish can go through a lot just to end up on someone's
supper table!
Have you ever looked back and thought about all that
God had done to bring you to where you are today? Daniel had come through
many trials and tests to finally be wrongly attacked and thrown to be supper
for hungry lions. Understanding the kind of person Daniel was, we don't
believe there was any hand wringing in his newest trial. After all, God
had brought him this far.
How far has God brought you? Are you experiencing some
kind of trial right now, wondering what it is all about? Have you looked
back lately and recalled what great things God has already done? His grace
is sufficient for today.
