I
watched the young woman with some interest as she stood near a terminal
gate in the Dallas Airport. She had quickly come to that position carrying
a flower and a camcorder. As she looked out the window, she saw the plane
had not yet docked. She waited. When the plane finally was in its berth, she began pacing back and forth, trying to find the right place to stand. When passengers finally started to appear, she jockeyed for a better position. She bounced up and down on her tiptoes numerous times trying to see over the debarking folks, obviously looking for a specific person to come off the plane. When the last person walked by her, she quietly turned and walked away alone. What are you expecting from God today? When you pray, are you expecting an answer with the intensity of someone waiting for a loved one at the airport? Do you believe God will answer your prayer? When Daniel prayed, there was an air of expectancy. If you study his prayer, you find that he went to God with adoration and faith (verse 4 ), confession of sin (verses 5-14 ), and a specific petition (verses 15-19). God had promised Israel would return to the Promised Land. Daniel believed God's promise. Pray like a Daniel, expecting God to answer!
