I
have been playing chess since I was in Jr. High School. A neighbor down
the road actually taught me and worked with me until I started beating him. I
don't consider myself a very good player, I just got a bit better than him.
Chess is a game of strategy and learning to put your opponent
in a position that leaves him or her with no choice but to move the way you want.
In order to do that you have to think ahead a bit. The farther ahead you can foresee
the game's likely moves, the greater player you will become. I would imagine
that if I were to play a Chess Master, he would probably see the end of the game
about as well as I could see the next couple of moves!
All of history is like a great chess game. The predetermined winner is God.
He sees the end from the beginning. I believe that God can do that because
He is outside of time. The Bible tells us of some of what He is planning.

Thessalonians 4:13 &18 tells of one of those events yet future. The
exact timing is in debate but the event is clearly spelled out here. Jesus will
return and those who have died in Christ will meet the remaining believers in
the air and together we will meet Jesus. Paul wrote about this event for
the purpose of encouraging his readers. (vs.
18 ) "Therefore comfort one another with these words."
I can draw comfort because I know Jesus Christ. Are you prepared
to meet Him someday? Today is the day to get
ready ! Ask the Lord Jesus to be a part of your life. He wants
to meet you in the air!
