One
of the most interesting inventions among toys in the last 15 years has been models
that look like one thing and can be folded into something else. A transforming
toy can be a fast car one minute, and within a few seconds be changed into a menacing
robot. When I was a boy all transforming would have been done by modifying the
toy in ways the creator hadn't imagined!
We are all in the process of transformation. God starts a complete
renovation of our lives when we become a part of his family. Some transformation
is visible but most is taking place in our minds and hearts. Paul mentions a thoroughly
changed person in Colossians
4:9. Onesimus was the runaway slave subject of Paul's letter to Philemon.
He met Jesus Christ through the imprisoned Apostle.
Knowing Jesus Christ personally is a life changing relationship.
The closer you get to Him, the more you will change to be like Him. Paul called
Onesimus a "faithful and beloved brother." He was changed from a fearful, thieving
runaway (Philemon
1:18) into a blessing to Paul and the church.
How have you changed? How are you changing? Are you allowing
the Master to transform you into something more useful? Don't resist the Master's
hand. He is remaking you for your own good as well as for His glory.
