I
read a story the other day of a rather dramatic, somewhat supernatural rescue
a World Trade Center victim experienced. He was in the second tower on the 81st
floor when the plane hit. Parts of the jet ended up blocking his exit from his
office! He immediately prayed from beneath the rubble and God answered with strength
the voice of another trapped worker. Together they miraculously were able to overcome
what should have been an inescapable situation.
There are many other stories of deliverance from September 11th. Until
we can ask God in heaven, we will not really understand why some were spared while
so many died.
The Lord has made it possible for you and me to be rescued from
a spiritual disaster. Speaking of Jesus Christ, Paul wrote, "For He rescued us
from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved
Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins"
(verses
13-14). Long before the "evil doers" of September 11th,
Satan's kingdom sought to enslave us in spiritual darkness. Have
you been rescued?
God makes rescue possible for us by accepting the place-taking
sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He died on the Cross so your sins would be forgiven.
All you have to "do" is pray and accept God's gift of love. He is waiting to rescue
you from darkness today!
