For some time, we have been doing
several major work projects around our house. A new closed-in front porch addition
is in the final stages, the back yard is starting to look level where it is supposed
to, and the flower gardens are starting to grow. It has crossed my mind more than
once that what we are trying to accomplish is impossible! However, the end is
in site now.
Construction and remodeling can take a lot of time. Sometimes
it looks like there is no progress being made, while at other times it almost
seems to move too fast. With a plan in mind, each step has a purpose that builds
toward the ultimate goal. Sometimes patience is the order of the day, while at
other times the work has to be done quickly.
Paul told his
readers that they were (and we are) "under construction" too. God
has a plan in mind for
your spiritual growth and life. In
Philippians 1:6 Paul says, "I am
confident of this very
thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the
day of Christ Jesus."
Then in
Philippians 2:13, "God is at work in you, both to will and
to work for His good
pleasure."
Rejoice! What started in your life with trusting in Jesus Christ
as Savior will be continued as God does in you what is good and pleasing to Him!
