I
can remember as a child getting a small mountain of gifts for Christmas. Most
of them lost their meaning after a short while. One still stands out, a stuffed
animal I named "Woo Woo", I received when only 18 months old. I slept
with that "dog" until I was... well, older than Ilike to admit.
Do you
still remember what you were given and by whom, this year? What was
your greatest gift
ever? Sadly, many who claim to follow Christ get so caught up in the culture of
Christmas that the Greatest
Gift of Christmas is forgotten. It's a gift you've been asked
to pass along
to others too. Remember John
3:16? "For God so loved the world, that He gave
His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal
life."
The greatest
Christmas gift came from the Heavenly Father and was planned before
time began. I hope that
you have already accepted that gift. If not, you can do so by
simply talking to God and
telling Him you want it, admitting to Him that you cannot
have eternal life any other way.
If you
already know the Christ of Christmas, you are asked to share that gift
with others. It is never
diminished no matter how many people receive it. It is always special
and the most precious gift
anyone will ever receive. Why not give it away as a New
Year's gift?
