Number Kid
It is always fascinating to watch the mental development of a child.  Ben, now almost 5 years old, has recently developed a great fascination for numbers. If something has numbers on it he wants to play with it or look at it. He has taken to asking deep and complicated questions like "What is 2 plus 4 plus 3 plus 1 plus 2..." Our brains fog over a little when he rattles off a stream of requests like that. If we take time to add up his numbers and supply an answer, he doesn't know what it means.
There is massive potential in the mind of a small child, but until Ben has learned a few more things, he won't even be able to comprehend the significance of the answers.
An exciting Bible truth is that there are many things we don't understand or know about what God has done or is doing for us. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says in part, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those whole love Him." This is similar to Ben not understanding the significance of numbers. He has the questions but can't comprehend the answers. We have much to look forward to God giving and showing us.
Easter is a time of year when you may have extra questions about God. But many answers won't be forthcoming. We are really just too young! But we can certainly bow in worship!
I pray that Easter is not just a feel good time for you, but that it is a special time of worship and bowing before our awesome God and creator, the Lord Jesus Christ! Will you take time to worship Him today?

Lullaby
Our two littlest ones have gotten into the habit of having a little song and prayer time just before going to bed. Bonita has worked at teaching them a few good-night type songs like "Lullaby, and Good Night!"
If you don't know the words, one of the lines goes something like, "Lay you down now and rest, may your slumbers be blessed!"
There aren't many children two years old now days that know what "slumbers" are. In Daniel's case, he just translated it over to something that he did know. Now we refer to his rendition as the "Gambling" version of the song. He sings, "may your numbers be best!"
Singing is a powerful medium for transferring thoughts and feelings. I think that is one of the reasons Paul told the Ephesians to speak to "one another is psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord." (Ephesians 5:19). When you sing truth, it touches both halves of your brain. Have you noticed how you can memorize things better if they are set to a tune? Both sides of the brain are at work and the spirit is involved too.
Sing to the Lord! Sing the truths of God and learn the songs that can bless the spirit as well as the mind. The Lord has provided this wonderful medium for you.--
