I have fully fallen into the electronic age. When I come into my office,
often, the first thing I do is turn on my computer. In fact, it sounds almost
eerie in here without the familiar background noise of the little fans on
the computer unit!
Another way I have been affected that I could not have anticipated
is in the area of communication. I can remember when I first got a computer
and found, that in spite of having very inept typing skills, I could still
turn out a letter without any whited out mistakes. Everything could be corrected
on screen. I could look like I really knew what I was doing!
Electronic mail or "e-mail" further revolutionized my life.
Now I routinely type notes to friends all over the country without ever
putting an envelope in the mail. But there are some people that don't have
e-mail capabilities. Now my problem is I can't hardly bring myself to write
to them by "snail mail."
I am glad that the Lord still "writes" to me. No, I haven't
gotten anything postmarked "Heaven." God does use "e-mail" though. That's
"Eternal Mail." Ephesians 1: 2 says,
"May grace and peace be yours, sent to you from God our Father and Jesus
Christ our Lord." That was written nearly 1950 years ago but yet what God
has written is still valid for me today. God's message touches not only
my mind, but my heart.
Have you taken time to read your "e-mail" from God today? It's
there, right in your Bible.
