I
don't like to run lights when nobody's around. The room that I cross through
in our church to get to my office is about thirty feet from end to end.
But there is only a light switch at one end. When I enter at night, unless
I want to leave the lights on for some reason, I walk it blind.
Walking through in the dark wouldn't be too much of a chore if the floor space
was all open. But the room is used for youth meetings so sometimes (actually
most times) stuff is moved around a little. There are three posts down the
middle of the room as it is, then I have to anticipate chairs, tables or other
movable items. Sometimes I get a surprise! Scripture
was written to give us spiritual light so we wouldn't stumble in spiritual darkness.
In 2
Peter 3:8-9, Peter sheds light on God's timing for Jesus' return. He also
spotlights the question, "Why isn't He returning sooner?" The answer is
in verse
9, "The Lord is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but
for all to come to repentance." It is not necessary for
you to walk around in spiritual darkness. God has been patiently waiting
for your response to His light. Accept Jesus
as your own Savior today by talking to God and telling Him that
is what you want to do. He doesn't wish you to perish at Jesus return, but
instead to have eternal life. You can pray something as
simple as "Come into my life, Lord Jesus." His Holy Spirit will enter your
life and give you the light you seek!

Version unless otherwise noted.
